It is with great regret that we have heard of the news of Dr Harry Begian passing away from pneumonia on 26 July 2010. He was 89. Dr Begian will be remembered for his work with the Michigan State universities, the University of Illinois and as a former president of the American Bandmasters Association. I had the pleasure of playing in a band while Dr Begian directed Alfred Reed’s Praise Jerusalem! — a memory I will not easily forget. You can read more information here.
