Stefanie Smith is a Woodwind Teacher and Ensemble Director in the Catholic Education System in Brisbane. Stefanie studied instrumental pedagogy and conducting at the University of Queensland. Stefanie also conducts the Brisbane Symphonic Band and the Young Conservatorium Wind Orchestra. Stefanie has been an ABODAQ member since 2004 and President since 2013.
James Kukulies is a Senior Instrumental Music Teacher with Education Queensland based at Indooroopilly SHS. He studied music at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University and education at University of Queensland. James has over two decades of teaching and conducting experience in a range of band, orchestral, and jazz projects and environments. He has been an ABODA Qld member since its inception and has contributed to many executive committees in various roles.
Craig Kennedy is the Head of Cocurricular Music at St Rita’s College. Craig studied music at the Queensland University of Technology and education at the Australian Catholic University. Craig also performs with the Brisbane Symphony Orchestra. Craig has been an ABODAQ member since 2001 and Treasurer since 2013.
Emma Carey is Director of Woodwind at Brisbane Boys College. Emma currently conducts the College’s Symphonic Band as well as the Young Conservatorium Wind Ensemble. Emma has been an ABODAQ member for a number of year and secretary on a number of occasions.
Rachel Howley is the Head of Co-Curricular Performing Arts and Woodwind Specialist at Grace Lutheran College. Rachel studied a Bachelor of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium and a Graduate Bachelor of Education at the Queensland University of Technology. Rachel has also completed a Master of Music Studies at the Queensland Conservatorium where she further developed her love for conducting and instrumental pedagogy. Rachel has been an ABODAQ member since 2002 and committee member since 2013.
Joel Miller is a business professional and a hobbyist musician. He plays drums and percussion with the Brisbane Symphonic Band and in community musicals from time-to-time. Joel has been an ABODAQ member and a committee member since 2013.
